Description:
This two-day course provides detailed information for planning, installing, and configuring the EDM System to meet a company’s engineering needs. The course is designed to give system administrators the proper tools and understanding they need to plan and deploy the Engineer’s Desktop suite of applications across the organization.

Prerequisites:
Familiar with Drilling and Completions applications, Databases, and prior use of Windows

Objectives: After this course, you should be able to:
 
  • Describe the Engineer’s Desktop (EDT)
  • Describe the Engineer’s Data Model (EDM)
  • Construct an initial Project plan to implement the Engineer’s Desktop
  • Describe the information that needs to be gathered to complete the implementation plan
  • Perform an EDM and a Drilling and Completions installation
  • Explain the EDM Architecture in relation to the Data Model
  • Use the EDM Administration utility
  • Perform various Import and Export operations
  • Add and configure custom Output Reports
  • Configure security including Tight Access, User Authentication/Validation, User/Group Management, Security Levels, Application Security Tokens
  • Describe and implement Data Locking
  • Describe EDM System Settings
  • Discuss the details of the EDM Unit Management System
  • Describe and navigate the Well Explorer
  • Configure the Simultaneous Activity Monitor
  • Migrate pre-EDM DIMS, COMPASS, and WELLPLAN data to EDM
