This five-day course is designed for a single customer attending Drillworks Standard training and an extended two-day course in Geostress and SafeSeal training. It includes theory an overview and focuses on the foundational Drillworks applications of Predict, 3D, and ConnectML, Geostress and SafeSeal. The techniques discussed focus on practical versus theoretical techniques that will allow students to evaluate the credibility of the modeled results and consider them appropriately in the well design and decision-making process. This course reinforces the geopressure concepts presented and provides hands-on training in pore pressure analysis using Drillworks Predict and Drillworks 3D modules. Students will learn how to build and calibrate 1D and 3D petrophysical geopressure analysis using log, drilling and seismic data. They are introduced to the underlying concepts, methods and practical skills required to perform wellbore stability analysis in well planning and drilling, and practical skills needed to plan for and manage wellbore stability issues in drilling operations are emphasized. Students are introduced to basic geomechanics fundamentals and the data needed to perform wellbore stability analyses. These inputs and principles include pore pressure, LOT interpretation, calibrated fracture pressure and overburden stresses, effective stresses, stress systems, elastic and inelastic modeling, rock mechanical properties and rock failure models. Hands-on practical examples including LOT interpretation, stress ratio calibration, stress direction analysis, shear failure analysis and wellbore azimuth and inclination sensitivity analysis.
