Description:
This three-day course is a comprehensive hands-on overview of COMPASS, Landmark's directional drilling software application. It provides a firm foundation in the COMPASS data structure. After completing this course you will be able to enter and check survey quality, evaluate different planning options, and be able to perform wellpath collision avoidance by computing the distance between wellpaths.

Intended For:
Rig-Site Surveyors, Drilling Engineers, and Well Planners

Prerequisites:
Some knowledge of directional drilling and prior use of Windows

Objectives: After this course, you should be able to:
 
  • Start COMPASS and maneuver around the system and data structure efficiently
  • Configure the system for different companies such as anti-collision preferences, survey tool errors and survey calculation methods
  • Set up a new field, select a geodetic system and verify map coordinates
